Four Year -Old Curriculum
Temple Beth Or Preschool recognizes that childhood is a separate and distinct stage of life with its own characteristics. The application of this body of knowledge to teaching is called developmentally appropriate practice in the classroom.

Put simply, here at TBO Preschool we teach in ways that match the way children develop and learn. We provide our students with an abundance of opportunities to learn and practice newly acquired skills. We challenge the children beyond the level of their present mastery in a loving community where children are safe and valued, where their needs are met and where they feel psychologically secure.

We as teachers are engaged in a continuous cycle of observing, guiding, learning and assessing children’s progress. A preschool classroom is full of challenges. It can be calm, yet dynamic, predictable, but full of surprises; active and hands-on, but also quiet and reflective. These challenges require a range of teaching approaches that we will tailor to each child’s individual learning style.

Our four-year-old program will prepare your child for kindergarten; it is our hope that they will leave TBO Preschool confident and curious. They will be respectful of other people, play cooperatively in a group and work to solve conflict in a peaceful manner. They will be happy!
