Two Year -Old Curriculum
The two year old program at TBOP may be a child’s first preschool experience. It is designed to be an atmosphere that encourages creativity, curiosity, exploration and respect for individuality. The teachers provide nurturing supervision and positive guidance. Through consistency, affection, encouragement and support each child learns he/she is a unique individual and develops a positive self concept.

Two year olds have a lot of energy, are curious, and are growing in independence. Their fine motor skills are improving and they now explore objects with more deliberate experimentation and purposeful efforts. Two year old children learn by experiencing their environment through their senses, by physically moving around and through social interaction. They are learning to produce language rapidly and are developing social skills.

The two’s program promotes the emotional, social, physical and cognitive development of each child in a warm creative environment. Weekly theme based lesson plans are developed by each teacher. Materials are introduced into the different activity centers that relate to the theme being explored, and there are more structured activities planned. Learning experiences encompass all aspects of a child’s development and are offered through hands on, age appropriate activities. Children are encouraged to express their feelings through appropriate words and actions. Self esteem is fostered by nurturing each child’s unique personality and learning style.
