Temple Beth Or Preschool has been serving children from Raleigh, North Carolina and its surrounding communities since 1982. As a widely respected preschool in Raleigh, we pride ourselves in offering a developmentally appropriate center-based learning environment for young children between the ages of one and four years.

Our highly trained and dedicated lead and assistant teachers guide our children throughout the day in the work of play. Our low student to teacher ratio ensures each child is able to work at his/her own level. We hold firm to our goal that Temple Beth Or Preschool nurtures each child physically, emotionally, cognitively and morally in a warm and friendly atmosphere. As experts in early childhood education, our teachers develop monthly lesson plans often focusing on a letter, shape, color and character trait for the week or month. Art projects are process based – allowing children to express themselves individually rather that duplicate the work of others. Each week our children enjoy a wonderful and lively music and movement program.

Temple Beth Or Preschool offers a secular early childhood education while celebrating reform Jewish holidays and activities. As a Jewish preschool we celebrate Shabbat each Friday morning with Lucy H.F. Dinner, Rabbi of Temple Beth Or. Rabbi Dinner leads our children in the Sabbath blessings, tells a torah related story and the teachers guide our children as they learn beautiful Judaic music. The children participate in tzedaka (charitable giving) each week and a new Jewish character trait is introduced and reinforced monthly.

Temple Beth Or Preschool does not discriminate based on race, religion, sex, age or national origin. Two-day, three-day, four-day, and five-day a week classes run from 9:00 – 1:00 with the exception of the one-year old class which ends at 12:30. Each day there is an optional extended day until 3:00 pm. Temple Beth Or Preschool has earned a five star rating from the North Carolina Department of Human Resources, Division of Child Development.

The state of the art facility located on the Temple Beth Or (TBO) campus is designed with the preschool child in mind. The separate entrance to the preschool is always secured keeping our children safe throughout the day. Each sun filled classroom is furnished with age appropriate centers: blocks, housekeeping, science, reading, manipulatives, writing, and computers. Each classroom opens onto a beautiful tree-shaded playground filled with a variety of large-motor equipment for our children to enjoy while releasing energy and getting fresh air. Whether the TBO Preschooler is climbing on one of our new playground structures or riding a tricycle around the new bike track, they are always having fun socializing with friends while being supervised by their teachers.

Temple Beth Or Preschool follows the Wake County Public School System calendar. During the summer we offer a fun-filled summer preschool camp.
